Federal Court Rules The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reporting Unconstitutional

On Tuesday December 3, 2024, a Federal Court out of Texas granted a preliminary injunction in favor of business owners, finding that the CTA is likely unconstitutional and outside of Congress's authority.

As a result, the enforcement of the CTA's Reporting Rule, which governs the BOI reporting requirements under the CTA, has been enjoined.

Specifically, the Court's decision means that businesses are not required to comply with the January 1, 2025, reporting deadline currently, pending further judicial action.

Please note that the case remains ongoing, and future developments may require compliance. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

Arnold Gruber, Ltd., Attorneys at Law, is here to address all of your concerns about the CTA and this recent ruling. Contact us at (330) 563-4149 today.
